Arlington Heights, IL (September 12, 2013) — Outstanding young professionals under the age of 40 who are nominated from architectural, engineering and construction firms will gather at the Under 40 Leadership Summit III, sponsored by Building Design+ Construction, a publication of SGC Horizon LLC/Scranton Gillette Communications. The event will be held October 9-11, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco.

A total of $5,000 in prizes will be shared by the winning U40 Summit teams as they compete in the new VISION U40 COMPETITION, solving problems related to the built environment in eight categories: Access + Mobility | Aesthetics + Beauty | Climate Change + Environment | Food Equity | Human Health + Performance | Human Spirit + Quality of Life | Social Justice | Technological Innovation.

Attendees can earn up to 8.0 AIA CES Learning Units and participate in exclusive tours of Autodesk Gallery and the Mission Bay/UCSF Science & Technology-Healthcare-Mixed Use District.

Summit facilitator Tom Wujec is an Autodesk Fellow and the author of “Imagine * Design * Create” and “Five Star Mind.” In Wujec’s VISION U40 COMPETITION video on www.BDCnetwork.com/under40summit, he encourages young professionals to flex their creative muscles in a “collaborative combat sport” that he describes as friendly, fierce and wickedly fun, all in the pursuit of innovative solutions.
