Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon Brands Capture 10 Azbee 2016 Regional Awards for Journalism Excellence

Arlington Heights, IL (July 5, 2016) — The American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) handed out its 2016 Azbee Awards for the Upper Midwest Region at a banquet in Chicago on June 29. Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon brands tallied 10 awards in multiple categories. 

The Azbee Awards recognize editorial and design excellence in the business, trade and specialty press. The organization received more than 1,100 submissions for the prestigious regional and national awards. 

Professional Builder took home two Silver Azbee Awards, one in the Editorial category and the other in the Special Section category for its Housing Giants 2015 Report. A Bronze Azbee Award was presented to Professional Builder in the Case History category.

Construction Equipment received a Gold Azbee Award in the Product Section/Department category for its Buying File articles, and a Silver Azbee Award in the Regular Column/Contributed category for Equipment Executive.

Both of SGC’s healthcare brands received a 2016 Azbee Regional Award: Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology captured the Silver Azbee in the Humorous/Fun Department for The Off Beat articles, and Imaging Technology News took home the Bronze Azbee Award in the Regular Column, Contributed category for its Greg Freiherr series of columns.

Residential Lighting received the Silver Azbee Award in the Social Media Presence category. Sister publication Home Fashion Forecast’s Home View digital supplement won the Bronze Azbee Award in the E-Zine/Original Digital Content category. 

Roads & Bridges won the Silver Azbee Award in the Special Section category for its Departments of Transportation and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles section.

The national award winners will be announced at ASBPE’s Azbee Awards of Excellence banquet on July 21 in St. Petersburg, Fla.  Several of the SGC/SGC Horizon regional award-winning brands are also finalists for the national awards.
