Arlington Heights, IL (February 11, 2014) — ABM, The Association of Business Information and Media Companies, has announced that Professional Builder is being honored as a finalist in three categories in the 60th Annual Jesse H. Neal Awards competition for editorial excellence. Winners will be announced March 14 during ABM’s annual Neal Awards ceremony in New York City.

Published by Scranton Gillette Communications/SGC Horizon, Professional Builder is a finalist in the Best Profile category for its December 2012 issue’s feature, “Toll Brothers: New Guard, New Era, More Success.” The May 2013 issue’s “2013 Housing Giants Report” is a finalist in the Best Subject-related Package category, and Professional Builder’s “House Review” is a finalist in the Best Instructional Content category.

“Our job is to engage with builders by providing industry insight, business best practices and design ideas,” says Patrick O’Toole, editorial director and publisher of Professional Builder magazine. “Each of our three Neal Award finalists this year accomplishes one or more of these goals. We are very pleased to receive this recognition from our peers.”

Professional Builder and sister publication Professional Remodeler captured the Neal Award in 2012 for Best Subject-Related Series of Articles for their joint special report, “The Tablet PC Revolution,” published in the September 2011 issues of both publications. It was also a finalist for the Grand Neal Award.

ABM’s prestigious Jesse H. Neal Award is recognized as the “Pulitzer Prize of the business press.” Established in 1955, the awards are named after ABM’s first managing director, who promoted the business press throughout his life.
