Neal Award finalists, with SGC/SGC Horizon brands tallying 11 finalist recognitions in nine categories. Building Design+Construction magazine (and its website BDCnetwork.com) is a two-time finalist in the Best Subject-Related Package category for its “School Security: Can Design Prevent Another Sandy Hook?” and its “Technology Report 2014” articles; in the Best Technical Content category for its “Construction Technology Reports: BIM, Virtual Reality, Big Data” coverage; and in the Best Newsletter category for its “Daily 5 eNewsletter.”

Professional Builder/ProBuilder.com is a finalist in the Best Commentary category for its Scott Sedam columns; in the Best Subject-Related Package category for its “Housing Giants 2014” feature; in the Best Profile category for “Doing the Right Thing”; and in the Best Theme Issue of a Magazine or Newspaper category for its May Housing Giants issue.

Residential Lighting magazine is a Best Use of Social Media category finalist for its social media pages on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram.

Roads & Bridges magazine is a finalist in the Best Subject-Related Series for its 2014-launched “Bridge Rescue” columns and features in print and online.

The Diapason magazine is a finalist in the Best News Story category for “The 2014 Ivory Trade and Movement Restrictions: New Regulations and Their Effects” article.

ABM’s Jesse H. Neal Award is recognized as the “Pulitzer Prize of the business press.” Established in 1955, the awards are named after ABM’s first managing director, who promoted the business press throughout his life.
