Arlington Heights, IL (September 11, 2013) — More than 500 attendees from 27 states attended the inaugural BUILDINGChicago/Greening the Heartland Conference, held September 9-11, at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza. The event was produced jointly by Building Design+Construction, published by SGC Horizon, the U.S. Green Building Council – Illinois Chapter, the Greening the Heartland Committee, and AIA Chicago, with additional support from the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and the Builders Association (AGC).
All educational sessions offered AIA CES and GBCI credits and focused on sustainable design, building information modeling (BIM), and developments in healthcare, schools and universities. More than 40 sponsors supported the tabletop exhibit area.
