In 2013, Vorster captured the prestigious Gold National AZBEE Award from the American Society of Business Publication Editors in the Regular Contributed Column category. The David H. Burrows Professor Emeritus of Construction Engineering at Virginia Tech, Vorster is a 50-year veteran of the construction equipment industry, and author of “Construction Equipment Economics,” a handbook on the management of construction equipment fleets. He serves as a consultant in the area of fleet management and organizational development, and is also the lead presenter at the annual Construction Equipment Management Program (CEMP).

“Nobody addresses the financial side of equipment management better than Mike,” says Sutton. “He is recognized by manufacturers, distributors and end users as the foremost authority in asset management, and is certainly recognized by the Construction Equipment staff as one of our most valued assets.
